Just a quick observation I noticed after scanning, reading threads and posts, as well as navigating around the site. Not intending to get deep or touchy-feely but I feel the need to share this with you people (gender neutral @Chrisy:) ). I have been on several forums and I have to say that this forum has the most feel of a close-knit community that I have experienced in a long time. On another BB forum I am on, I have rarely ever participated in any non-BB discussions, as many of you may have noticed. The reason being that I had no interest or time and because they most often turn bad or negative. Now I find myself reading everybody's threads and posts, even if I don't have time to comment or vote on each one. This bunch seems to trust each other more and be much tolerant of humor and opinions without feeling insulted or defensive, except for real bashing or troll comments of course. On the other forum there were times when my cynical or sarcastic humor would be incorrectly taken as a negative or insulting, but here you guys/gals instinctively seem to take it as it was intended, knowing that I nor anyone else here would intentionally insult another, unless it was deserved :). There also seems to be more respect for opinions and conduct. Simply put, it's more of a casual, laid back atmosphere, like a group of friends sitting around drinking coffee and expressing their view on life, without fear of attack.
I credit @Lucas for the layout on the forum home page displaying recent discussions, regardless of category, because I normally would not be going to the other categories to read threads. I have previously only frequented PB and 9930 categories on other sites, because that's all I really have time for, but now I see recent discussions of all categories and can't help but checking out all threads because this bunch comes up with such bizarre and eclectic topics:). Kudos to @Lucas and the members here, it's you guys (sorry @Chrisy:( ) that make this Site what it is.
I like it here because we don't get bashed for what we say (unless we have been rude to someone) and it does feel like we are sitting down talking while having the refreshment of our choice. Well done @rotorwrench
It's just accepted that we have our own reason why we stay with BlackBerry too. I like just reading about new BlackBerry updates and app. Not all the comparsions that I don't care about.

I agree about the forum layout. Normally I wouldn't stray far from the PB or 9900 section in that other place. This layout puts threads right there and I find many of them interesting. Have a good group here.
Perhaps it's because this site has got the best from those other sites, yourself included, @rotorwrench. ;) And @Chrisy, you don't need to hope because it will stay all BlackBerry, thanks to the core membership being backed up by a terrific admin, @Lucas. Everybody ;;)... >:D<

Ha! Me too! I find myself many times saying..."I should do xyz...as soon as I check out N4BB"....only, my "mistake" is that as soon as I get rid of the yellow flags, I check one more time, then there's more yellow flags! It is a never ending loop!
This is the first forum that I participated so much in off-topic too!
I honestly think everyone here is smart enough to get each other. Even when we disagree we don't get all offended. We duke it out and then laugh.
I hope it stay BlackBerry fans ONLY and not The Others.
Chrisy nailed it - "Blackberry fans only" keeps out the fighting, harassment, disrespect, insults and wars. Even if we don't agree on a lot of things and have varying opinions, even political and religious, we all have the bond of preferring the same device and therefore mutual respect.
After all, isn't that what got us all here in the first place?
Other forums have the misguided belief that everyone should be tolerant of everyone else's device preferences. How stupid is that? Notice they don't have enough mods to keep the peace, and we have virtually none?
How about letting Ford fans into a Chevy forum and see what happens, or Lakers fans into a .. any other team forum...
then there is the other factor.. that blackberry users are simple a higher class of people ;)
By the way I define Blackberry fan as one who prefers and appreciates blackberrys above all other brands, not one who is moderate and has no preference. Those are usually the biggest troublemakers.

Not eloquent but an impulsive, quick observation.
Very perceptive rotor....this IS one great brotherhood! :-h

It really is nice to just simply be able to talk BlackBerry without having to do pre-emptive brown nosing...ie. "Now I realize that this isn't everyone's experience..." or nonsense like that to try and keep the non-'Berry users from going all Jack Nicholson on us...
Ok, did any of that make sense? And yes, it does feel like we're all just sitting around having a great cup of coffee ~O) , BBM'ing each other from across the table :-c
Security. Usability. BlackBerry. Black Sheep and Proud of it.
I was thankful to be invited to n4BB. Pleasantly surprised when you all were positive, supportive and understanding. Like real people instead of impatient or spoiled characters. I liked the experience, I liked you all. Then I was often surprised at your wisdom. You didn't jump to crazy conclusions or react with crazy attacks (do I have to say "like at so many other forums"), but with the smarts of experience. @Lucas was someone you could talk to, and who did things. As is written above, the misunderstandings were few. It reminded me of the idealism of the 70s.
It keeps going if we (you) keep it going. You (we) are the key.

Amen to this thread and forum. Great place and great people. It is refreshing to be able to have an opinion and not be jumped on or derailed into a fight. Hope it will stay that way. Thanks @Lucas for a great hang out and of course the members here too.
Agree with all these post. This is the first forum I have ever actively participated in. There is a variety of technical expierance here and everyone is able to contribute something.

@Icom - I think maybe why we are seeing "more people" being involved in the (at least anyway) "technical" discussions is that our N4BB user base isn't really bloated (sort of like a lean, mean, BB machine - the way Thorstein likes it!), so more people chime in because they know something that hasn't been posted. Myself for example, I don't bother posting about something technical (or anything for that matter) if I see that what I was going to say has already been touched upon or noted.
I feel the same.. I seldom post on other sites unless its a question or answering someone else's question. My primary reason for posting originally was to learn all I could about my bb products so I could use them as effectively as possible.. Not so much to learn about bb shortcomings and non bb products or to debate opinions.
When I realized that so many of you had started posting here I registered right away because I really appreciate the insite and enjoyment you guys provide in your non bb and bb posts.
Btw, @rotorwrench, thank you again for showing me the ropes and teaching me to stay cool even when the forums get really messy. Glad I don't have to worry about that here. :)
@Blackjack93117 Well, on a blackberry fan site one would expect not have to 'defend a bb device'
meh when times for RIM are good, on a BlackBerry site you defend a BB device because you're defending why Touchscreen is better, or why the Keyboard isn't out dated, or Why the slider it the best.
like the first post I made on this forum the battle between BlackBerrys!! I loved those days. why I liked my curve more than someone elses storm
