It seems as though they should be able to monetize this and at the same time make some head way commercially, it has value.

The problem is that they are such a PR disaster that no one seems to have any idea what the devices are capable of (any of them). Anyone out there noticed a difference in the image? What the hell is the new marketing guy doing? If Apple did this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The problem is most of the PBX systems mentioned above have clients for smartphones that do the exact same thing as MVS, and don't require an extra RIM server. I'd rather have a BB10 device with a client that talks directly to the PBX, then go through MVS.

RIM doesn't seem to push MVS, maybe because it isn't as good as the other PBX systems, but really I think they should be pushing it to the SMB market, the customers who traditional voip installations aren't working in, into the mining market that can't get cell signals underground pushing MVS with BlackBerry's could make BB the defacto standard.

I hope RIM keeps improving on MVS as well as ties with traditional PBX vendors

"Currently, we support the PBX platforms of Cisco, Avaya and Mytel.”

Oh Dear people... It's Mitel, not Mytel. A huge Canadian PBX manufacturer that's over 30 years old.

Oh... and to Lance and others interested, I just downloaded two different SIP VOIP clients for the Playbook. Taki, and Kuzaranda.
I have Taki working as an extension in office on our Zultys PBX. I have Kuzaranda working both internally and externally on the Zultys PBX.
Next up, testing on our Mitel, and then Toshiba PBX systems.
BTW... Kuzaranda works whilst tethered to a BB phone... no WIFI.

Well MVS has been available for years.
RIM just fails to talk about it
